DESCRIPTION

Join Land Trust staff and volunteers for happy hour in celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Land Trust’s Emerald Necklace project! We’ll toast to our conservation successes at Firelight Camps, a beautiful and cozy setting pitched on the grounds of La Tourelle Resort and Spa in Ithaca. Come enjoy light refreshments and music by the West Hillbillies! Land Trust staff will provide information and answer any questions you might have.

The Emerald Necklace is an ambitious effort to conserve an uninterrupted green corridor extending through 50,000 acres of conserved land from Finger Lakes National Forest in the west to Hammond Hill and Yellow Barn State Forests in the east.  Through this project, the Land Trust and a variety of public and private sector partners are working together to protect open space, public drinking water and wildlife habitat.

We’ll be celebrating the Emerald Necklace all week long!  Join us for a volunteer work day, a morning bird walk or a tree identification walk for kids!

DIRECTIONS

From Ithaca follow Rt. 96B south/Danby Road  for approx. 2 miles to the entrance of La Tourelle Resort and Spa on the right.  Follow the driveway to the rear of the parking lot and look for signs for Firelight Camps.
