Sweedler Preserve at Lick Brook – town of Ithaca
Please RSVP to Nature Preserve Manager Jason Gorman at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Come on out in honor of the 10th Anniversary of the Land Trust’s Emerald Necklace project for a volunteer work day at the Sweedler Preserve! Your help is needed to move logs and limbs to restore and reinforce the hiking trail along Lick Brook. Tools, work gloves, and refreshments will be provided but bring your lunch and water. Please RSVP to Nature Preserve Manager Jason Gorman at email@example.com.
The Emerald Necklace is an ambitious effort to conserve an uninterrupted green corridor extending through 50,000 acres of conserved land from Finger Lakes National Forest in the west to Hammond Hill and Yellow Barn State Forests in the east. Through this project, the Land Trust and a variety of public and private sector partners are working together to protect open space, public drinking water and wildlife habitat.
From Ithaca follow Rt. 13 south to just past Buttermilk Falls State Park. Turn left on Sandbank Road. At Y intersection bear right on Town Line Road. Park immediately on right side of the road (before the bridge). Sweedler Preserve is to the right (white trail), Thayer Preserve to the left (orange and blue trails).
