Five New Locations Added to Go Finger Lakes—the Land Trust’s Recreation Web Site

The Finger Lakes Land Trust announced the addition of five new locations to its outdoor recreation web site, Go Finger Lakes is offered as a free public service to help residents and visitors discover the best locations in the region for hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, cross-country skiing, and other outdoor activities.

Selected for their unique recreation opportunities in the region are:

The Cayuga Waterfront Trail in Ithaca, a paved, accessible, eight-mile, multiuse trail connecting popular Cayuga Lake waterfront destinations;

Genesee Valley Greenway State Park, a new 90-mile, multiuse trail connecting Rochester and Cuba, NY;

James Kennedy State Forest, a 4,422-acre forest featuring 20 miles of trails in Cortland County;

Letchworth State Park, an iconic New York state park with a 17-mile-long gorge in Livingston and Wyoming counties;

Ontario Pathways, a 25-mile, multiuse trail connecting various towns and villages in eastern Ontario County.

“Go Finger Lakes” features over 60 locations and 650 miles of trails across the 12-county Finger Lakes region of New York State.  It is a mobile-ready site with a searchable map, scenic videos, photo galleries, driving directions, and trail descriptions. Site users will find state forests and parks, nature centers, rail trails, and other prime conservation lands available for public recreation, including popular segments of the Finger Lakes Trail.
