Description

Join staff and volunteers on the first Friday of every month from May through November for FLLT nature preserve stewardship activities and socializing. If you are looking for a good reason to take off a half-day on a Friday, this is it! Work sessions will be held from 2:00-4:30 pm, followed by a social hour from 4:30-5:30. Tools, work gloves, light refreshments, and snacks will be provided.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to check out one of FLLT’s newest nature preserves! Formerly a conservation easement, this preserve was donated to us by the Eberhard family, and we are now starting phase one of preparations for public access.  Your help is needed to formalize a new hiking trail by helping to remove a number of old trail markers and fence posts, as well as clear branches and sticks from the new trail system.

Please note the following:

  • Tools and work gloves will be provided, but if you have a favorite crowbar or cat’s paw, please feel free to bring it.  There are a lot of old markers to remove!
  • Sections of this trail are very steep and strenuous. If you do not enjoy hiking steep trails, this site is not for you.

Directions

There is no formal parking area yet, and some will need to park on the road shoulder. Traffic cones will be set up to help with alerting other vehicles, but please park so that both sets of tires are out of the travel lane on the south side of Coddington Rd.  The driveway is located a few hundred yards north of the intersection with White Church Rd.
