How long have you been involved as a volunteer?
Since 2015
What is your volunteer role at FLLT? What kinds of work do you do here?
Trail building and maintenance at FLLT preserves
Why do you volunteer?
I relish the opportunity to interact and build friendships with FLLT staff and other volunteers. They are all founts of knowledge and really nice people. The friendship and learning experiences are fantastic.
What’s your favorite FLLT activity and/or preserve, and why?
I enjoy both Logan Hill Nature Preserve and Lindsay-Parsons Biodiversity Preserve, where there is an incredible variety of birds. I also like the Sweedler Preserve at Lick Brook; it is nice when you can connect to the Finger Lakes Trail from the preserves. There are no bad days in the woods.
Anything else you want to add?
I believe in the FLLT’s mission and volunteering is a great way to support the preservation of land and important habitat and to help make it accessible to the public.
