DESCRIPTION
Come join us for an afternoon visit to Bear Swamp State Forest. Finger Lakes Land Trust and NYS DEC Forestry staff will lead a hike on the red trail network to observe and discuss land use history, forest wetlands, recreation on state forest, and an explanation of forest management activities and current forest health concerns.
We will meet in the parking lot at 1:00PM for introductions and a brief discussion. The hike is about 2 miles and generally flat, with a slight climb towards the end. There are muddy sections so hiking boots and pants are recommended. It is a wet area, so blackflies and mosquitoes are to be expected. Please come prepared with bug spray and/or headnets.
