Sweedler and Thayer Preserves at Lick Brook—town of Ithaca
Join Akiva Silver of Twisted Tree Farm for a walk that will focus on identification, natural history, wildlife value, the role of invasive plants, as well as survival uses of trees and shrubs. The walk will last two hours or more so please come prepared with appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather and terrain.
From Ithaca follow Route 13 south to just past Buttermilk Falls State Park. Turn left on Sandbank Road. At Y intersection bear right on Town Line Road. Park immediately on the right side of the road (before the bridge). Sweedler Preserve is to the right (white trail), Thayer Preserve to the left (orange and blue trails).
Except in the case of extreme weather, walks go rain or shine. Please check this web page for updates.
Please refrain from bringing dogs as they may impede the observation of wildlife.
