DESCRIPTION

Celebrate the first day of fall with Finger Lakes Land Trust staff member Danaka Olsen, a former wilderness recreation guide with more than a decade of outdoor education experience. On this beginner-friendly walk, Danaka will discuss specifics for planning ahead, managing inclement weather, basic risk management, gear fundamentals and packing essentials, and a demonstration on backcountry water purification. There will be plenty of stops for discussion and questions. This is designed for anyone new to hiking!

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for walking on wet rocks. In the event of rain, please bring a rain jacket or poncho.
