DESCRIPTION

Come on out in honor of the 10th Anniversary of the Land Trust’s Emerald Necklace project for a volunteer work day at the Sweedler Preserve!  Your help is needed to move logs and limbs to restore and reinforce the hiking trail along Lick Brook.  Tools, work gloves, and refreshments will be provided but bring your lunch and water.  Please RSVP to Nature Preserve Manager Jason Gorman at jasongorman@fllt.org.

The Emerald Necklace is an ambitious effort to conserve an uninterrupted green corridor extending through 50,000 acres of conserved land from Finger Lakes National Forest in the west to Hammond Hill and Yellow Barn State Forests in the east.  Through this project, the Land Trust and a variety of public and private sector partners are working together to protect open space, public drinking water and wildlife habitat.

We’ll be celebrating the Emerald Necklace all week long!  Join us for happy hour, a morning bird walk or a tree identification walk for kids!
