30 for 30: Anniversary Hike at the Lindsay-Parsons Biodiversity Preserve

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, the Land Trust is hosting 10 hikes led by knowledgeable staff covering a total of 30 miles. Join us for one event, or attend all and hike 30 miles for 30 years! You can also complete the hike series on your own. DESCRIPTION

Senior Field Representative Kris West will lead participants on a 2.8-mile hike through the Lindsay-Parsons Biodiversity Preserve which features over 500 acres of diverse habitats including lakes, forests, meadows, brushland, gorges, streams and wetlands. Kris will discuss the history of the preserve and the Land Trust’s role in acquiring it, as well as its flora and fauna.

DIRECTIONS

The Lindsay-Parsons Biodiversity Preserve is located in West Danby, about 8 miles away from Ithaca. Take Rt. 13 south from Ithaca, then take Rt. 34/96 south to West Danby. Most of the preserve is located on the east side of the highway, across from Sylvan Drive and the West Danby Fire Station. Ample parking is available about 1/2 mile south of Sylvan Drive, on the east side of the road. Entrance to the parking lot is at the top of a hill, opposite a house and barn.
