This volunteer work day has been canceled

TIME

10:00 AM—12:00 PM

LOCATION

Owasco Bluffs Preserve—Cayuga County

DESCRIPTION

Join FLLT staff for an ongoing streamside restoration project at the Owasco Bluffs Nature Preserve. We will remove invasive plant species from along the stream corridor as well as from an area containing native tree and shrub plantings. The walk will be about ten minutes in each direction from the parking lot and consist of flat to rolling terrain.

Tools and work gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring your own favorites if you’d prefer. Sturdy, close-toed shoes, as well as pants, are highly recommended as the area we’ll be working in contains various thorny plant species.

DIRECTIONS

From Auburn, follow NY State Route 38A south for approx. 6 miles. Turn right onto Rockefeller Road and continue south for approx. 2 miles. Turn right onto Sam Adams Lane to find the preserve entrance on the right.

From Moravia, follow North Main Street/Rockefeller Road for 7.75 miles. Turn left onto Sam Adams Road and follow for approx. 0.5 mile. At the bend in the road, continue onto Sam Adams Lane for one mile to find the preserve entrance on the left.
