Volunteer Work Day at the Eberhard Nature Preserve

DESCRIPTION

Work is currently underway to prepare this new preserve for public access. Help is needed to complete a new trail system by clearing brush from existing trails, and digging water bars to prevent erosion. Please note the following:

  • Sections of this trail are very steep and strenuous. If you do not enjoy hiking steep trails, you may want to skip this particular work day.
  • This preserve is not officially open to the public, but a parking area has been installed.  The driveway is located a few hundred yards north of the intersection with White Church Rd.  Directions to the meeting site: https://goo.gl/maps/ome5yK3BjZSBQxXG8
  • All tools (mattocks, fire rakes, loppers, hand saws) and work gloves will be provided.  It is requested that you wear sturdy hiking shoes or boots and long pants.  There is a fair amount of stinging nettle along the trail.
