This event has been cancelled

TIME

11:00 AM — 1:00 PM

LOCATION

Roy H. Park Preserve (south entrance)– town of Dryden

DESCRIPTION

Celebrate spring with a walk on the Phenology Trail led by Hannah George, FLLT Conservation Easement Steward and originator of the trail, and FLLT spring intern Alex Stalica. Stay in tune with the subtle changes of plants during the growing season this year by learning how to contribute your observations of trees to a national database. In doing so, you’ll help document the local effects of climate change. All ages are welcome on this 1.5 mile walk over flat terrain. Arrive 15 minutes early for a brief overview of how to use the Nature’s Notebook application, a great tool to use for tracking phenology and sharing data throughout the season. Nature’s Notebook is not required to attend the walk. Learn more about the Phenology Trail.

DIRECTIONS

From Ithaca, take Rt. 13 North towards Dryden. Go approx. 12 miles and turn right on Irish Settlement Rd. Continue on Irish Settlement approx. 4 miles to find the NORTH parking area–where the boardwalk is–on the left (approx. 0.5 mile after Hammond Hill Rd). Continue approx one more mile down Irish Settlement Rd to find the SOUTH parking area just after Goodband Rd. If you get to Midline Rd, you’ve gone too far.
