Cora Kampfe Dickinson Conservation Area/Staghorn Cliffs – south end of Skaneateles Lake

Description

Join trip leader Patrick McGinn for a kayak or canoe paddle to this conservation area which features a portion of Staghorn Cliffs. Patrick will offer a glimpse into the geologic history of the fossils that are the namesake of these cliffs. Participants must bring their own canoe or kayak and drinking water. Please be prepared to paddle at least four miles, round trip. Additionally participants must have a personal flotation device (life jacket) with them.

The group will depart from the boat launch at the Town of Scott Family Park, located just off of Glen Haven Rd. at the south end of the lake.

Directions

From Route 20 in Skaneateles, take Rt. 41 south through the flashing light in Borodino. Approximately 7.6 miles south of Borodino near the Cortland County line, turn right turn onto Vincent Hill Road. At the end of Vincent Hill Road, make a right turn onto Glen Haven Road and then take your next left. Continue about 300 feet and you will see a right turn into the Town of Scott Family Park.
