DESCRIPTION

What better way to enjoy Memorial Day weekend than to explore woodlands filled with song? Join local birder and insect enthusiast Mark Chao at the Roy H. Park Preserve in Dryden in search of breeding birds, butterflies, native bees, and other wildlife of late spring. Bring binoculars if you have them.

DIRECTIONS

From Ithaca, take Rt. 13 North towards Dryden. Go approximately 12 miles and turn right on Irish Settlement Rd. Continue on Irish Settlement for about 4 miles to pass the NORTH parking area—where the boardwalk is—on the left (about 0.5 mile after Hammond Hill Rd). Continue one more mile down Irish Settlement Rd. to find the SOUTH parking area on the left, just after Goodband Rd. If you get to Midline Rd., you’ve gone too far. Please do not park on Goodband Rd.
