DESCRIPTION

Join staff and volunteers on the first Friday of every month from May through November for FLLT nature preserve stewardship activities and socializing. If you are looking for a good reason to take off a half-day on a Friday, this is it! Work sessions will be held from 2:00-4:30 pm, followed by a social hour from 4:30-5:30. Tools, work gloves, light refreshments, and snacks will be provided.

The Botsford Preserve is the first and only nature preserve owned by the FLLT in the Keuka Lake watershed, and up until 2003, this site was an active gravel mine. Help is needed to cut and remove invasive brush from the reclaimed area and along the hiking trail. Additionally, there may be some light carpentry work.

DIRECTIONS

From Branchport, take Route 29 north/Guayanoga Road for two miles. At the intersection with Hemlock Road, make a left turn to find the parking area on your left.
