Earth Day Work Day Series—Friday, April 22

Do you love getting outside on our trails? Now is your chance to give back in celebration of Earth Day by volunteering with the Finger Lakes Land Trust!

On Earth Day, Friday, April 22, staff and volunteers will lead two nature preserve maintenance and improvements projects in the region. Join us at one of the following volunteer opportunities from 9:00 AM to 12 PM:

Bahar Nature Preserve

Town of Niles, Cayuga County

Volunteers are needed to join FLLT’s Preserve Management Committee member George Thomas to build a footbridge and complete a short trail reroute. Activities may also include clearing water bars and drainage, as well as painting new trail blazes on the rerouted section. We will meet at the Appletree Point Rd. parking area, not at the Carpenter Falls parking lot. Directions and more info.

Lindsay-Parsons Biodiversity Preserve

Town of West Danby, Tompkins County

The Lindsay-Parsons Preserve (LPBP) has a wide variety of habitats and just under 4 miles of hiking trails. LPBP Friends Group Leader Polley McClure will lead volunteers to clean up roadside trash and conduct general trail maintenance. FLLT will provide Hi-Vis Safety Vests, trash grabbers, and work gloves. Directions and more info.

Please let us know you are coming by emailing Nature Preserve Manager Jason Gorman at jasongorman@fllt.org or call 607-275-9487.
