DESCRIPTION

Join fellow photographers for an evening at the Roy H. Park Preserve with photographer and Finger Lakes Land Trust GIS Program Manager Chris Ray. Photo enthusiasts of all levels are welcome, and we will explore different types of nature photography from macro to landscape. We will also discuss composition, exposure fundamentals, camera techniques, and mechanics. Advanced camera gear is not essential but it is recommended to bring a camera with manual controls and a tripod.

We will set out from the parking area at the south entrance to the preserve and follow the trail down to Six Mile Creek. This walk is approximately 1.5 miles and will involve some limited, steep climbs. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.

DIRECTIONS

From Ithaca, take Rt. 13 North towards Dryden. Drive approx. 12 miles and turn right on Irish Settlement Rd. Continue on Irish Settlement for about five miles to find the SOUTH parking area just after Goodband Rd. If you get to Midline Rd, you’ve gone too far.

POLICIES

Except in the case of extreme weather, walks go rain or shine. Please check this web page for updates.

Please no dogs.
