TIME

10:00 AM

LOCATION

Wesley Hill Nature Preserve—towns of Richmond and South Bristol, Ontario County

REGISTRATION

Registration will open on May 1, 2026.

DESCRIPTION

Join us for a guided hike with Nature Preserve Manager Jason Gorman to explore invasive plants and the Land Trust’s ongoing efforts to protect the Wesley Hill Nature Preserve’s hemlock forests. Jason will discuss plant and tree identification, forest health, and how land managers respond to threats like the hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA). We’ll learn to spot common invasives, see conservation work in action, and gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to care for forests in the Finger Lakes.

This will be a moderate, 3-mile hike lasting approximately 1.5–2 hours.

DIRECTIONS

The hike will begin at the Wesley Road entrance to the preserve (not the main parking area on Gulick Road). From Honeoye, take Rt. 20A east to East Lake Road. Follow East Lake Rd. south for a short distance and then turn left on County Rd. 33. Continue a short distance and turn right on Pinewood Hill Rd. Follow Pinewood Hill, then Gulick Road south for approx. 2.5 miles. Turn right on Wesley Road and follow approx. 1 mile to the parking area on the right.

POLICIES
